Build

An app people want to keep using.

I design and build apps for iOS, Android and the web, from the first screen to the services behind it. One person handling the product, the code and the launch.

Is this the right service?

For a business that needs a customer app, a founder building a product, or a team ready to improve an existing app.

The product comes first

We start with who will use the app and the job it needs to do. I map the main journeys, design the screens and agree on a focused first release. Accounts, payments, messaging and notifications are added where they make the product useful.

Built across platforms

I build with Flutter where sharing the product across iOS and Android makes sense, and connect it to the web experience and backend. My app work includes Limelight Music and Meld: consumer products with discovery, profiles, real-time conversations and connected services.

From the build to the next release

I handle the app, its APIs and the release work together. That includes testing on devices, preparing store submissions and planning updates. We discuss hosting, store accounts and ongoing support before the build starts, so the first release has a plan behind it.

What the work includes

  • Product planning and screen design
  • iOS and Android app development
  • Web experience and backend services where needed
  • Accounts, payments, chat and notifications within the agreed scope
  • Device testing and store submission preparation
  • Documentation and an agreed maintenance plan

Scope and price are confirmed in writing before paid work begins. Not every item is needed for every business.

Have this ready for the first call

  • Who the app is for and what they need to do
  • Your must-have features for a first release
  • Any existing app, designs or software it needs to connect to
  • Your target platforms, budget and launch timing

A short summary is plenty. Access to accounts is only requested once we are working together, through the client portal.

Questions about app development

Can you build for both iPhone and Android?

Yes. I build across iOS and Android, often using Flutter to share the core product. We choose the approach around the features, platform requirements and maintenance needs.

Can you improve an existing app?

Yes. I review the product and code first, then explain what I can improve, what needs rebuilding and how to release the changes without losing the parts that already work.

Are apps included in the website packages?

App development is scoped separately. I agree on the first release, the features and the price with you before work begins. Store accounts, hosting and ongoing support are discussed as part of that scope.
