Who I learned from · 2015–now
Aman Murba
Aman and I met on a first-year venture team in 2015. Aman went on to be Limelight’s CFO, built its pitch deck, co-wrote its Y Combinator application, and taught me to make every decision for the person I will be tomorrow.

Who Aman is
A Senior Associate at Centerbridge Partners in New York since 2023, after investment banking in Nomura’s Insurance Solutions Group. Aman holds a B.Math. from the University of Waterloo and a B.B.A. from Wilfrid Laurier University, both with distinction, and is a CFA charterholder and an Associate of the Society of Actuaries.
How we met
In October 2015 we were on the same six-person New Venture team in first-year business, building DealFinder, an app that watched used-product listings and contacted sellers automatically.
What I learned
The importance of tomorrow. Aman taught me to make my decisions today so that the future version of me is happier because of them. Short-term pain is long-term gain, and I still weigh every big choice that way.
Keeping the numbers honest
A company is a set of numbers someone has to be accountable for. Aman did Limelight’s business-law work in 2019, took on the grant research in 2020, and co-drafted our Y Combinator application that October, the cautious half to my hype. As CFO, Aman kept Limelight’s finances honest into 2021 and built the pitch deck that May. In 2023 Aman was still my financial adviser, and the habit stuck: I do not make a money decision without running it past someone who reads numbers for a living.
