Twenty-five things to check before the site goes live.
A launch is when rankings are lost, forms silently break and the tracking that would have proved the site worked never gets installed. Work through the five groups before you flip the switch, whoever built the site.

General information only. A general launch list, not a test of your site. Ticking an item records that you checked it, nothing more. Some items need a developer (redirects, schema, speed); some need you (proofreading, the phone number, the logins). The legal items are reminders, not legal advice.

Launching, or about to?
Tell me what is being built and when it goes live. I can run the technical checks, set up tracking and make sure the old URLs keep their rankings.

The background
The two launch mistakes that cost the most.
A redesign that changes URLs without redirects throws away every ranking the old site earned. A site that launches without tracking cannot show what it produced, so the next argument about whether it was worth it has no numbers in it. Both are fixed in an afternoon before launch and take months to repair after.
Questions
What is a 301 redirect and why does it matter?
A permanent redirect tells Google that an old address has moved to a new one, so the rankings and links the old page earned transfer. Every URL on the old site that has a new equivalent needs one, checked individually, before launch.
Which tracking do I need on day one?
Google Analytics 4 for visits, Google Search Console for search performance, and conversions recorded for every form, call and booking. Add Google Ads conversion tracking if ads are running. Without the conversions, you know the traffic but not the customers.
Do I need a privacy policy?
If you collect any personal information through a form, or use analytics or ads tracking, yes. Canada's PIPEDA applies to most businesses. This is a reminder, not legal advice; have a lawyer confirm what your business needs.
Why test on a real phone?
Because most of your visitors are on one. A resized desktop browser does not show how a form keyboard behaves, whether click-to-call works or how the site loads on mobile data.
